Today, a global showcase event for science and technology innovation projects is being held in Pinghu!

This afternoon, the Zhejiang Pinghu Global Science and Technology Innovation Project Roadshow—Special Session on New Materials (Membrane Materials)—was held. Six new-materials projects led by PhDs, including “ThioTech Heavy Metal/Rare Metal Adsorption Materials” and “Bozhan Qianyan—Nanomaterials Project,” conducted on-site presentations.

This event aims to further reshape the industrial landscape, with new materials and new energy as the driving forces. Focusing on the goal of industrial transformation and upgrading, we will build the Yangtze River Delta (G60) Science and Technology Innovation Corridor—the dynamic engine for technological development in Pinghu. Since 2021, our city has been collaborating closely with the Zhejiang Tsinghua Long Triangle Institute to establish an innovation system characterized by “1+4+N,” jointly building the Tsinghua Long Triangle Institute Pinghu Innovation Center. We have successfully attracted innovative platforms such as the Long Triangle Institute, the OTA Big Data Platform, and the Pinghu Agricultural Innovation Center to set up operations in Pinghu, and have established an initial science and technology innovation fund totaling 650 million yuan. Since its inception, the Pinghu Innovation Center has seized the window of opportunity for talent recruitment, actively engaged with Tsinghua’s academic departments, and successfully brought 42 projects to Pinghu, with a total investment approaching 2 billion yuan. We have also recommended and helped one national-level high-end talent and three provincial-level high-end talents secure their positions in our city, achieving remarkable results under the “Deep Root Plan” initiative.

Currently, Pinghu is closely aligned with the Provincial Party Committee’s “No. 1 Development Project” aimed at upgrading and enhancing the digital economy, and is promoting high-quality economic development with high standards and high efficiency. Moving forward, our city will enhance its capacity to build high-level innovation platforms that meet the needs of Pinghu’s industrial development, strengthen and consolidate the platforms’ ability to absorb innovative technologies, fully leverage the cohesive advantages of “Tsinghua-affiliated” projects, focus on developing high-end industries, attract top-tier science and technology resources, and comprehensively boost Pinghu’s efforts to become a comprehensive innovation hub.
